Why internal links matter for indexing
Crawlers discover pages by following links. A page that nothing links to is called an orphan page, and it is easy to miss.
A simple habit
Every time you publish a new article, link to it from at least one older article and from a list page such as the articles index.
Write useful link text
Use words that describe the destination instead of phrases like "click here". It helps readers and crawlers understand the target page.
Use real links
Links should be normal anchor tags with an address in the href attribute. Buttons that only run scripts are not followed.
